Tangy Tuesday or Thursday (It Depends on the Day)

Greg Tang is one of our favorites.
We love his books.
We love his ideas.
We love his games.

Last year we started Tangy Tuesdays. On a Tangy Tuesday, students could opt to spend lunch/recess in the Math Quarters participating in all things "tangy." Those were a huge success. So much so that we could not keep up with the demand.

So this year, we are trying out Tangy Tuesday (of Thursday) during our math block time.
On Thursday, we introduced some of our first graders to Tangy Thursday.
We had four stations:
Tic-Tac-Tang (AKA Tic-Tac-Ten Frame)
Number Nicknames
Ten Frame Mania (iPad)
Make Ten

Here are a few photos our first graders in action.
